What is digitizing, and do you pay for it every time?
Digitizing is the one-time setup step that turns your artwork into a machine-readable stitch file. It's done by a person, not automatically, because decisions about stitch type, direction, and density affect how the finished logo looks on fabric.
Digitizing is done per design at a given size and placement. Once your logo is digitized, reorders of the same design in the same size reuse that file. A significantly different size or placement, such as moving from a left chest logo to a full jacket back, generally needs to be digitized again.
How small can embroidered text be?
As a general rule, lettering should be at least a quarter of an inch (roughly 6 mm) tall to stay clean and legible. Below that, individual letters start to fill in and lose their shape, especially on textured or knit fabrics. If your design includes a tagline, web address, or fine print, we may recommend enlarging it or leaving it off a smaller placement.
Why might parts of your logo need to change for embroidery?
Thread is thicker and less precise than ink, so some elements that look sharp in print don't translate to stitching.
